7 Best Fall Fashion Trends For Women In Leadership

The weather continues to feel more summer than fall – yet it is definitely time to update your wardrobe for the season.

Although it’s important to stay true to your personal style, sticking to cuts and colors that work best for you rather than blindly following trends, it is also true that an updated touch goes a long way in influencing people’s perception of you. A little style detail can take your image from frumpy to fabulous, or from boring classic, to classic with a memorable edge. These little details say, “I have my pulse on the status quo”.

And if you are in a career rut –  a complete style transformation will launch you out of it quicker than any other remedy.

Really.

The moral of the story; definitely add a couple seasonal pieces. Or tweak the way you wear what you already own to create fresh combinations.

Easy right.

Yes, in theory, but not all runway trends translate well to the office. Here are seven runway trends interpreted for women in leadership:

1. Classic Saville Row- Fabrics like herringbone, glen plaid, and houndstooth are everywhere, in every style permutation conceivable this fall. The Saville Row trend translates perfectly for work. From suiting to jackets, pants, skirts, dresses and even fall coats, you likely have a piece hanging in your closet already – I know I do, and it’s the perfect opportunity to style it up for work.

31 Ways To Wear Pantone Color Ultra Violet At Work

info@imaxtree.com

Being current sends it own powerful message. For that reason, incorporating Pantone Institute’s  2018 color of the year, Ultra Violet, into your work wear lineup can prove good business.

In my last post, I explored the professional power of purple, and options to apply purple in specific business situations.

I mentioned the easiest way to wear ultra violet professionally and avoid appearing gauche is with accents: a jewel toned tote, shoe, or scarf, and that lavender is generally a safer shade than purple in business. If you know your audience, however, the jewel tone can create incredible presence.

For inspiration here are 31 ideas for wearing Ultra Violet at work:

High waist pants hide love handles, belly fat, and front flab. Tops tuck properly into high waist pants. Best of all – no muffin top.

No wonder the high waist pant is on the rise.

Many of my clients and customers wonder how to make high waist pants work for them. Here are a few hacks to look like a style hit, not a style miss: Continue Reading →

“Everything you want is just outside your comfort zone”, says Robert Allen.

These are words to live by. So I’ve made some changes.

Then the aha moment came.

I can be part of the Nordstrom family here too.  So, please come into my dressing room.

Let’s talk about little white dresses.

Because everyone needs a little white dress for summer! You can take yours to work, weekend, and even on vacation. So many possibilities! Here are three I love:

1. Fit And Flare –  This Theory dress can easily be worn to the office with a blazer, or with a  jean jacket for casual Friday and weekend.

Dress it up with wedges and pumps or dress it down with sandals, elevated sneakers, or even classy flip flops. Continue Reading →
