The trench coat, particularly long ones, have made a comeback. Trenches are offered in a large variety of hues, and fabrics for Fall ’19. The prints are plenty too, from animal print, to plaid and everything in between.
Find a trench that complements your personal coloring and body type. If you are partial to a particular trench, and it’s length seems overpowering, keep in mind you can easily shorten your favorite version to a length that suits you perfectly.
2. The Belted Jacket or Suit
To carry off a belted blazer, opt for a belt width that flatters your body type. If you are petite, look for a thinner belt. Taller body types, or women who have more physical size, such as Michelle Obama, can carry off wider belts.
Dive into your belt inventory and use with your existing jackets and suits or shop new. Either way, updating with a belted style jacket adds pep to your step, and pride in your stride, making your day easier to execute.
3. The Plaid Blazer
Plaid has long been a fall staple. Fall ’19 is no exception. The plaid blazer is a particularly flexible garment for professional women since plaid blazers look equally polished for business casual paired with dress pants and pencil skirts, for casual Friday and weekend paired with jeans, or even as a light coat during transitional weather.
4. The Tall Boot
Knee and over the knee boots are practical and stylish this season. Pair your tall boots with dresses and skirts. Both pencil and pleated skirt styles work well.
Tall boots look great with culottes too, as shown above, a possibility for weekend, and creative work environments.
5. The Power Suit
The one-and-done nature of a power suit makes the power suit an appealing wardrobe staple. Not to mention it is easy to separate the jacket and pants to create multiple outfits. The trick when selecting a power suit is to find one that flatters your body type, fits well, and is a great cut, print or color for you.
